Homemade Sulfite Free Sausage Stuffing

Ingredients

  • 12 cups Diced homemade white bread
  • 3 cups Chopped chicken sausage
  • 3 sticks Unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp Onion powder
  • 2 tbsp Poultry seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Garlic salt
  • 2 tsp Sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 and line a dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large pan on the stove, melt two sticks of butter and mix in the chopped chicken sausage.
  • Add the onion, poultry seasoning, and garlic salt into the melted butter and sausage and mix together. Cook for 5 minutes or until simmering.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the bread and butter & sausage mix. Then pour the stuffing into the dish and spread evenly.
  • Melt the remaining butter in a pan and mix in sea salt. Pour it evenly over the top of the stuffing dish and mix once more.
  • Bake the stuffing for 30-35 minutes or until the top layer of bread begins to brown and crisp.
