Baked Cinnamon Donuts with Brown Sugar Icing

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 medium banana mashed
  • 1/2 cup cane sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter melted
  • 1/3 cup milk sub almond milk
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

Brown sugar icing

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup cane sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix together the mashed banana, maple syrup, and cane sugar.
  • Then stir in the milk and melted butter (make sure the milk isn't too cold or the melted butter will clump).
  • Add the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and sea salt to the top of the mix and slowly combine from the top to the bottom.
  • When well mixed, pour the batter into two well greased donut pans until each is filled around 3/4 of the way.
  • Bake on 375 for 12-14 minutes or until a toothpick comes out dry.
  • Let the donuts cool entirely before making the icing and dipping the donuts into the icing mix.

Icing

  • Melt the butter and sugar together in a pan on low heat.
  • When well combined and runny, add in the cinnamon and continue stirring until you are ready to dip the donuts into the mix.
