Yet another granola recipe with the best clustery, crunchy texture that we all know and love! This chocolatey, coconutty granola is flavored with tasty cacao powder and coconut sugar and hints of sea salt and almond. If you’ve never tried a tasty homemade granola recipe, try this one out today!
The perfect clusters form while baking and are held together with maple syrup and coconut oil. If you’re looking for a granola that’s both delicious and easy to make, look no further!
Ingredients in this Homemade Granola
- Organic rolled oats
- All natural, organic cacao powder: If you’re sensitive to sulfites, you’ll want to find a cacao powder that is not processed with alkali!
- Sea salt
- Organic coconut sugar: You can omit the coconut sugar if you prefer a granola that isn’t as sweet. It will still be chocolate-y & coconut-y!
- All natural, organic maple syrup
- Organic, unrefined coconut oil. If you cannot tolerate coconut oil or prefer not to have it, you can leave it out of this recipe and add one extra tablespoon of almond butter! It won’t have the same exact crunchy texture, but it will still be delicious.
- Chopped almonds
- Natural almond butter
Making your Homemade Granola
To make this granola, start by preheating the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Mix together the oats, cacao powder, sea salt, and coconut sugar in a bowl. Add in the maple syrup, coconut oil, almonds, and almond butter and mix again until the ingredients are well combined.
Using a large spoon, spatula, or your hands, press out the granola mix onto the baking sheet forming a thin layer. Bake the granola for 10 minutes until the edges begin to brown then remove from the oven, let it cool, then break apart.
