Hello and Welcome to The Natural Eater!
I’m Taylor! Here’s a little bit of background on The Natural Eater and where it all began
After 10+ years of living with undiagnosed chronic illness and emotional and physical symptoms that got in the way of my everyday life, I finally found my answer: sulfites. I started The Natural Eater in early 2020 as a resource for those struggling to navigate a sulfite sensitivity diagnosis.
Despite having an an answer, it seemed impossible to find the support and guidance I needed in a challenging time. The lack of knowledge that medical doctors, naturopathic doctors, and other professionals have about sulfite sensitivity was disheartening. I found myself diving deep into learning about where food comes from and how it’s processed.
The emotional impact this had on me was challenging. The lifestyle change I needed to make felt impossible, scary, and most of all truly isolating. When I reached a point of feeling well and had built confidence, I wanted to make sure of two things:
- That no one ever had to feel like they were alone in the process of learning how to adjust their lifestyle to find a path to well being.
- That people know there IS a way to navigate what can seem like a hopeless and life-stunting diagnosis.
So here we are!
I’m now the recipe developer and blogger behind The Natural Eater! I love creating delicious, preservative free recipes and sharing my experience living with a sulfite allergy. My website and instagram have grown into a truly meaningful space where I share my passion for tasty, healthy food and overall wellness.
You can read more about my experience with changing my lifestyle here. I try to make food fun and focus on accepting my allergy as a positive part of my life. After all, how many people have you met who can’t eat sulfites? Probably not many. It makes for a fun talking point but most of all teaches you to nourish your body in ways you may have never thought of before.
And here is where we are headed
I’ve always had a strong passion for food and health, but my diagnosis taught me how to focus on overall wellness. I’ve learned how the food we eat affects both our physical and mental health and why finding healthy food balance is important. I’m currently enrolled as a functional nutritionist in courses to complete a certification in health and wellness coaching. I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with clients 1:1 and continue to help others in a more direct manner.
If you’re looking to eat more naturally or to find the best preservative free brands, I’d love to talk. Sharing my food and experiences with a sulfite sensitivity is just one of the things I love most. My email and Instagram messages are always open, so please reach out!
